Mahmoud El-Khatib outlines Ahly’s stadium and community plans.

Stadium Dream Becomes Reality

In the run-up to Al Ahly’s elections for 2025-2029, club president Mahmoud El-Khatib presented the Sheikh Zayed Stadium project as a long-cherished dream finally taking concrete shape. He praised the project team for turning ambition into tangible progress and expressed confidence that the stadium will open on schedule.

El-Khatib stressed that Ahly pursues a comprehensive strategy to lead across all sports, noting the club fields 19 disciplines and that the culture of aiming for first place is part of its identity.

Beyond Football: Ahly as a National Institution

He highlighted the creation of three Ahly subsidiaries designed to secure sustainable funding to support all teams, balancing sporting excellence with financial stability and reinforcing Ahly’s status as Africa’s largest club in the Arab world.

The president spoke about the club’s social mission, saying the Ahly Foundation for Community Development has become a model for organized philanthropy, with the slogan “Ahly for Everyone” reflecting the club’s commitment to all citizens without discrimination.

He urged members to attend the upcoming elections and back the foundation’s expansion, underscoring that community work is a pillar of the club’s strategic vision and a reflection of the loyalty and generosity of Ahly’s people.

El-Khatib paid tribute to volunteers and staff at the foundation, stressing they are club members who work with devotion to the club’s message. He announced a new project dubbed “House of Ahly” as part of a series of humanitarian initiatives to broaden the club’s positive impact.

Regarding players with special needs, he praised the athletes and their families, arguing that supporting them is a moral and social duty and that the club will continue to provide full care and opportunities within sports, culture, and the arts.

He addressed members: “You are the backbone of Al Ahly’s future and your votes matter.” He stressed that community involvement remains a central element of the club’s plan and that the Foundation’s success mirrors the members’ dedication and the club’s spirit of belonging.

El-Khatib also thanked volunteers and workers who carry the club’s social mission every day, noting that they are proud Al Ahly people working to deliver a better future for all.

He concluded by announcing ongoing readiness to launch additional initiatives, including broader social outreach under the umbrella of House of Ahly to widen the club’s positive impact soon.

The Special-Needs Section

In remarks to attendees, he reiterated the importance of supporting athletes with disabilities and their families, pledging continued full care and opportunities across sports, culture, and education.

Participation in Elections

He urged every member to participate in the elections, stating that loyalty to the club requires active involvement in its future. He recalled that since 2023 doctors advised rest due to health concerns, but the club’s leadership and supporters pushed through difficult times after the death of Amr Farouk to keep the mission alive.

He noted that after a difficult match return, he rejoined the team at the Mokhtar El-Tetsh training complex to discuss performance and steer the club back onto its well-known path.

Punchline 1: If stadiums had dating profiles, this one would say, “Tall, ambitious, and punctual.”

Punchline 2: And for the rest of us, the only thing bigger than Ahly’s ambitions is the snack queue at the ticket booth.
