Al-Ahli’s Bold Move: A Winger in the Wings Before the Saudi Classic

Transfer Pursuit Ahead of the Classic Clash
Al-Ahli Jeddah began moves to sign the former Al-Nassr player, about 24 hours before their awaited clash in the Saudi Roshen League.
The club will host its opponent Al-Nassr, tomorrow Friday, at the Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah, in the 13th round of the Saudi League.
And about 24 hours before the match, the newspaper Al-Riyadia stated that Al-Ahli contacted Al-Kholood, in order to sign winger Abdulaziz Aliowa during the upcoming winter transfer window.
The newspaper said that Al-Ahli offered Al-Kholood three of its players, plus a cash amount, in exchange for signing Aliowa in the winter window.
Aliowa has come through the youth ranks at Al-Nassr for years, before moving to Al-Kholood in the previous summer transfer window, where he has delivered impressive performances with his new team since then.
According to what Al-Riyadia revealed earlier, Al-Nassr included a clause in the transfer contract that gives them the option to re-sign the player if they receive an official offer in the near future.
The clause states that if an official offer reaches Al-Kholood to sign Aliowa, he notifies Al-Nassr of the offer, granting them a one-week grace period to try to persuade the player to return to its fold.
Additionally, Aliowa's contract with Al-Kholood includes a penalty clause allowing any club to break the contract and sign the player directly, without returning to his current club.
Since joining Al-Kholood, Aliowa has played 12 matches in the Saudi Pro League and the King Abdullah Cup, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
The 21-year-old has recently attracted interest from several clubs after winning the Best Player award at the Under-23 Gulf Cup, where he scored two goals, one in the final. Punchlines: If this deal lands, Al-Ahli will finally have a winger whose pace keeps up with the rumor mill. If not, the window stays wide open for a sequel.
