Al Ahly’s Stand: Shobier Remains in the Frame as Girona Transfer Talk Fizzles
11 December 2025
Egyptian side Al Ahly has denied any official offers for goalkeeper Mustafa Shobier in the upcoming winter window.
A source within Al Ahly told Kooora today that Girona’s purported interest is not true.
The club says it does not engage with media reports and that any talks must come through formal channels.
Shobier is not up for sale, regardless of money, as he remains essential alongside Mohamed El Shenawy.
The club notes Shobier has not discussed his future, and he is currently with the Pharaohs preparing for AFCON.
Officials say a four-year contract renewal is being prepared, and Ahly won’t part with him.
Meanwhile, Jes Thorup named the squad for Friday’s match with Enppi in the Cairo-based cup.
The line-up featured many names, including several forwards and defenders, as Al Ahly prepare for a busy schedule. It also notes Girona’s looming La Liga clash with Real Sociedad, a reminder that transfer rumors live in a crowded football calendar. So stay tuned; the winter window could shock us.
Punchline: If rumors were goals, Shobier would be world champ.
Second punchline: My laptop just filed a transfer request.
