Al-Shabab blocks Spain-bound move for its star Hamami

Transfer Rejection

Shabab's management rejected Deportivo La Coruña's bid to sign Hamami al-Hamami, the team's young winger, during the current winter transfer window.
According to Saudi daily Al-Riyadiyah, the Spanish club submitted a loan request until season's end, with an option to buy the player outright, but Shabab refused to protect the club's stability and plans for the campaign.
Hamami's contract with Shabab runs until summer 2027. This season he has featured in 17 games, scoring one goal and delivering one important assist, according to Transfermarkt.
Hamami's professional journey began with Al-Ittihad's youth teams in 2023, after notable European stints with clubs in Spain and the Czech Republic, as part of the Saudi talent development program.
In January 2024, he was promoted to Al-Ittihad's first team, but opportunities were limited. He appeared only four times before being loaned to Al-Kholoud last season, where he played 32 league games, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
Punchline: If transfer windows were dating apps, this would be a swipe-left on drama — great talent, bad timing.
Punchline 2: And if his future is on loan, at least his jokes are permanently on loan to brighten your day.
