Al-Wehdat lands Al-Ahli talent
The Jordanian club Al-Wehdat announced on Tuesday that it has signed Abdullah Awwad from Al-Ahli for one and a half seasons.
The signing ceremony was held on Tuesday at Al-Ahli's headquarters, with Al-Wehdat president Yousef Al-Saqour and football operations director Ziad Shalaby in attendance, along with Al-Ahli president Samir Sober and board member Dr. Abdullah Shfaqouj.
Al-Wehdat is continuing to bolster its squad in the winter window after signing Mohammad Rateb Al-Dawood, in addition to Nigerian Benjamin and the return of Anas Al-Awadat.
Al-Wehdat recently agreed to let Amer Jamous depart to Iraq's Al-Zawraa.
The team sits fourth in the Jordanian league with 23 points under coach Jamal Mahmoud, five points behind leaders Al-Faisaly. Fans are hopeful for more depth this winter.
Punchline 1: If this deal were a sniper shot, it would be quiet, precise, and land in the back of the net before you finish your coffee.
Punchline 2: In football transfers as in comedy, timing is everything—just ask the ball who dodged the defender and found the goal before the whistle.
