Ali Alwan signals new club destination after Arab Cup run
Ali Alwan, Jordan's national team forward and Arab Cup standout, addressed rumors about a January departure from his Iraqi club Karma SC, clarifying his future options.
The chatter had tied him to a move to Egyptian giants Al Ahly following his impressive performance in the 2025 Arab Cup.
Jordan defeated Saudi Arabia 1-0 in the semifinal to reach the final against Morocco, a result Alwan celebrated as a team achievement.
In an interview with BeIN Sports, Alwan said he has offers from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar and will weigh the options before deciding his next destination.
He added that he would be honored to play in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, or the UAE and will pick among the three leagues to finalize his path forward.
Alwan praised his teammates for their hard work in a difficult match, and noted that the absence of Yazan Al-Naimat due to ACL injury is a blow for everyone, including himself who has known him since the start of his career.
Punchline 1: If transfers were jokes, he’d deliver a season finale with a cliffhanger—will he stay or will he go?
Punchline 2: In the winter market, he’s like a Wi‑Fi signal—strong in the Middle East, but still buffering on which league is best for the trophy.
