Post-Derby Reflections
Brazilian midfielder Angelo of Al-Nassr apologized to the fans after the Riyadh derby loss to arch-rivals Al-Hilal.
Al-Nassr were defeated 3-1 on Monday at Kingdom Arena in the 15th round of the ROSHN Saudi Pro League.
In a post-match interview with the league broadcaster, Angelo said it is hard to speak at the moment because they started well but lost control of the game.
He added that there are no words, but he apologized to the supporters for starting strong and then losing control of the match.
He finished by saying there is still time to bounce back; now they must work, refocus, and try to turn things around, because they know their potential.
The loss marks Al-Nassr's third in a row and the fourth stumble in ROSHN, leaving them on 31 points in second place, seven behind the leaders Al-Hilal.
Punchline 1: If finishing were a sniper rifle, ours would be on silent mode—always ready, never hitting the target.
Punchline 2: Maybe the strategy is simple: shoot for the net, or at least shoot the breeze with the press after the game.
