Beijing: Anisimova Overpowers Gauff to Reach the Final
Amanda Anisimova, ranked fourth in the world, stormed past Coco Gauff 6-1, 6-2 on Saturday to reach the Beijing final for the first time.
She dominated the semifinal with a precise display and will face the winner of the other semi between Jessica Pegula and Linda Noskova.
Anisimova noted that the plan was to play well against Gauff and she felt excited about the chance to reach the final.
Shanghai: Zverev Survives an Ankle Issue to Advance
The German, seeded third, battled through an ankle problem to defeat French challenger Valentin Ravayier 6-4, 6-4 and move into the third round of the Shanghai Masters.
He started strong, broke Ravayier early, and delivered several powerful serves before a brief medical timeout when the injury flared.
Zverev said he was happy to win in two sets and would keep fighting to the end even if finishing in that manner was not ideal.
In other results, Alex de Minaur, the seventh seed, beat Camilo Ojo Carabelli 6-4, 6-2 to reach the next round, while Andrei Rublev, the 14th seed, was eliminated by Yoshihito Nishioka 2-6, 6-1, 6-4.

Punchline time: if tennis is a cake, these games are basically the delicious slice you regret after the last bite. Also, Zverev is proof that a limp can still lead to a sprint—on hard courts, that is.
