Referee lineup confirmed for Morocco vs Cameroon AFCON quarterfinal

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has ended the debate over who will referee the Morocco-Cameroon AFCON quarterfinal.

The Atlas Lions are set to face Cameroon this Friday at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, aiming to secure a semifinal berth.

CAF announced the match officials: Mauritanian Dahan Bida will referee, flanked by Angolans Gerson dos Santos (first assistant) and Sansha Lopez (second); Mahmoud Ali Ismail of Sudan is the fourth official.

For VAR, CAF named Ghanaian Daniel Laria as the head, with Tunisian Haithim Qirat as an assistant VAR and Mauritanian Abu Bakr Saar as a second tech assistant.

Punchline 1: If the whistle is loud, the press box will be louder.

Punchline 2: If VAR ever retires, the fans will still argue about a throw-in.
