Asian Championship Push: Keller Joins Al-Ittihad on Loan
Al-Ittihad announced the loan signing of Cameroonian defender Stefan Keller from AEL Limassol until the end of the season.
The club posted a brief statement on X confirming the deal.
Saudi outlet Al-Riyadiya reported that Keller's signature was secured a few days ago and that he will not be registered in the local squad list.
At 24, Keller plays as a centre-back and can also function as a right-back for the team.
He joined Limassol earlier this season from Deportivo Alavés' B team and has featured in 21 league matches in the Cypriot league.
And now he steps into the Saudi scene with ambitions to contribute to the Asian campaign, where the club seeks to strengthen its defensive ranks.
Peppered with experience in European football, Keller arrives as a foreign addition among the bloc of international players that Al-Ittihad has assembled for this season.
Humor break: If defense wins trophies, Keller just brought a new fortress to town. Punchline two: with him in the backline, the strikers might start taking notes on how to miss fewer headers.
