Back After a Week Away: Al Nassr Trains Goalie-Free
22 March 2026
Goalkeeper Gap as Al Nassr Resumes Training
Al Nassr resumed group training on Sunday after about a week off, notably without any of their goalkeepers.
The rest period came during the March international window, following a 5-0 win over Al-Khaleej in the 26th round.
The Saudi press noted that first-team keepers were away with Brazil and Saudi Arabia, while Raghid Al-Najjar is sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury.
Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus had to rely on three youth goalkeepers for training: Mubarak Al-Buainin (under-21), Sultan Al-Mas from the youth squad, and Marwan Mohammed from the academy.
Medical updates on Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and Inigo Martinez were reviewed to determine their return dates.
Al Nassr's next match is set for April 3, when they host Al-Najmah at Al-Awwal Park in the Roshen Pro League’s 27th round.
Currently, the team leads the Saudi Pro League with 67 points, three ahead of second-placed Al-Hilal, with eight rounds remaining.
Sniper punchline 1: If defending were an exam, Al Nassr would be stuck in retake—the goalie is on a world tour.
Sniper punchline 2: If you think their goalkeepers are late, don’t worry—they’re just giving the passport a workout before the next international break.
