Barcelona has entered a race with Arsenal to sign one of Borussia Dortmund's standout players ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Patrick Berger, the well-known Sky Sports Germany journalist, wrote on X that Arsenal and Barcelona are among the clubs monitoring Julian Brandt, Dortmund's star who will be a free agent next summer.

After seven years with Dortmund, Brandt wants to take the next step outside Germany, with Spain, Italy, and England considered potential destinations.

There are no concrete talks with any club yet, and Brandt even received two inquiries from Premier League clubs during January, which he declined to finish the season with Dortmund.

Brandt operates as an attacking midfielder and can also play on the right or left wing.
