Barça's Hidden Spark: De Jong says they're not playing at their peak yet
\nBarcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong says the team still has a lot to offer, even after the valuable 3-1 win over Elche.
\nSpeaking to Movistar Plus, De Jong said: 'We keep growing as a team and that's crucial, but we haven't reached our maximum yet. Usually we have players who finish attacks very well, and there are matches where we waste chances, but the important thing is that we manage to create them.'
\nThe Dutch star added: 'Usually teams sit deep against us, but Elche are a very brave side and play good football, which makes the game more entertaining for the fans. Personally I enjoy open games with more space, but I also like to control the proceedings, and in the end if we win I love the game.'
\nThe club emphasised that creating numerous chances is a positive sign as Barcelona enters the exciting phase of the season, with cup ties, the Champions League, and the late La Liga push on the horizon.
\nA Baldí, Alejandro Baldí, expressed satisfaction with the solid performance against Elche, noting there is always room to improve and expressing happiness with the victory: 'We made many chances and did a lot of work; sometimes the ball goes in, sometimes not, but I am very happy with this win.'
\nPunchlines: If this team wakes up any earlier, the alarm clock will need a manager. And if De Jong is right about more to come, imagine what the trophy cabinet will say when it finally finishes buffering.
