Barcelona's Quiet Winter Scouting: Yeremy Hernández Could Be the Next Big Flight Up

Transfer Window Watch: Yeremy Hernández in Barcelona's Radar
Barcelona is weighing a transfer from Spain's second division in the upcoming winter window.
Spanish outlet Marca reported that the Catalan club officially inquired about Deportivo La Coruña's standout forward Yeremy Hernández, 23.
They added that Deportivo La Coruña recognizes Yeremy as the second division's brightest gem and expects big offers in the January market, despite their firm stance on keeping him and denying any talks about his departure.
The club rejected a summer €30 million bid from Sporting Lisbon, and now they anticipate stronger offers from Europe’s top leagues to sign the young winger.
Barcelona has been linked with the Canarian winger, with the Catalan club closely monitoring him and compiling detailed reports, seeing him as a high-quality, exceptional talent.
Yeremy joined La Coruña at age 14 after a rapid spell at Real Madrid's academy in Valdebebas. He made his first official appearance for the club in December 2021 in the Copa del Rey, when he was still nicknamed 'Beqi', and soon became a regular in the starting lineup as La Coruña competed in the third division.
Marca added: at 23, many clubs have knocked on his door in recent months, including Napoli and Como, as well as Sporting Lisbon, but the Spanish club has remained steadfast in refusing to negotiate.
Yeremy renewed his contract last summer through 2030, with an option to extend by three further years, and a 40‑million euro release clause.
Punchline 1: If this deal lands, Barcelona will finally have wings to spare—and still have room for jokes on the bench.
Punchline 2: And the release clause is so high it could double as a tax on optimism.
