Barcelona has been dealt a heavy blow after confirming a 12-month absence for one of its players.
On Wednesday, Barcelona announced that their young winger Sama Nomoko underwent successful surgery following an injury suffered in the UEFA Youth League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.
According to an official club statement, Nomoko underwent surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, with a projected 12-month recovery.
Nomoko had a successful operation last Tuesday to treat the ACL tear, along with a concurrent meniscal injury in the same knee.
He sustained the injury during the UEFA Youth League match against Frankfurt, which Barcelona won 4-3.
