Barcelona Sets Sights on Algerian Rising Star Ibrahim Maza
Ibrahim Maza could be Barcelona's next big signing after shining for Algeria.

Barcelona's Interest

Fresh reports say Barcelona is eyeing a rising Algerian star as a potential signing.

Sporting daily in Catalonia cited Algerian sources that Barça is monitoring Ibrahim Maza, the Bayer Leverkusen winger and Algeria international, who is currently starring at AFCON in Morocco.

The report noted Maza, 20, has seen his market value surge to about €25 million last year, per Transfermarkt estimates.

Barcelona has kept watch on the player for some time and has intensified interest in recent months.

It recalled that the Algerian arrived in Leverkusen from Union Berlin last summer for €12 million, signing a deal through 2030.

Maza has already notched four goals and three assists for Leverkusen, and bagged seven goals with five assists in last season's 2. Bundesliga.

It added that the Algerian has been shining with his national team at AFCON, scoring against Sudan and helping Algeria reach the tournament's knockout stage with a perfect record.

Algeria are preparing for a big Round of 16 clash with the Democratic Republic of Congo.

If Barcelona signs him, they’ll finally have someone who can dribble past their own transfer rumors.

And if he scores for Algeria and Barcelona, the only thing harder than his name will be his passport control.
