Beijing semi-finals: Sinner’s relentless push
Jannik Sinner, the world No. 2, advanced to the China Open semi-finals in Beijing after a decisive, thrilling win over Fabian Marozsán. The match highlighted Sinner’s power from the baseline and his trusted first serve this season.
The start belonged to Sinner, who dominated the first set 6-1 with aggressive groundstrokes and precise serving. Marozsán responded with grit in the second, elevating his level and forcing Sinner to work hard for every game.

On the women’s side, world No. 1 Iga Swiatek celebrated her 400th career win as she reached the fourth round, though her match ended early due to Camila Osorio’s retirement after losing the first set 6-0.
Swiatek will next face American Emma Navarro, the 16th seed, who also advanced after her opponent withdrew due to injury. Swiatek has a favorable head-to-head with Navarro, having beaten her in two prior meetings, and looks to push further in Beijing.
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Mira Andreeva continued her rapid rise by defeating Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Manero in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, securing a place in the fourth round.
Andreeva’s 38th win of the year, at just 18, matches Venus Williams in a notable milestone for a young star, and she is set to meet British wildcard Sonay Kartal, who defeated an Australian opponent 6-3, 6-2 to reach the fourth round.
Kostyuk’s progress also continued as Marta Kostyuk beat Belarus’ Alexandra Sasnovich 6-4, 6-2, earning a fourth-round spot and awaiting the winner of the Raducanu-Pegula clash.
