Benzema’s Back Injury Fears Resurface: Is Mitrovic’s Curse Repeating in Saudi Pro League?

Injury scare echoes Mitrovic fate for Benzema
Medical reports suggest French star Karim Benzema, Al Hilal's striker, could be suffering the same back-muscle issue that hit Serbia's Aleksandar Mitrovic, the former top scorer of the club’s league regime.
Mitrovic left Hilal at the start of the season because of a chronic back injury, prompting the club to terminate his contract by mutual consent and move him to Qatar's Al Rayyan.
Al Hilal signed Benzema in January after his contract with Al Ittihad was terminated, but he could face the same fate Mitrovic did.
Saudi physician Rakan Al-Wabel, speaking on the program "In the Middle", said the French forward may confront Mitrovic's outcome if rehabilitation is not properly managed.
He added: "Back muscle injuries are among the most delicate and must be treated with care and thorough rehabilitation to avoid worsening, as happened with Mitrovic earlier."
He concluded: "Benzema has already missed time with both Al Ittihad and Real Madrid because of this issue, and Hilal must ensure constant rehab to prevent a chronic problem."
The ongoing medical update adds suspense to a season that has seen star power collide with fragile injuries.

Punchline 2: In football, the only thing more persistent than a back injury is my internet connection during a big match—both keep buffering the drama.
