Match Day Moments
Saudi Pro League fans at Al Hilal delivered a surprising moment as Abdullah Al-Hamdan took part against Damac, drawing attention beyond the match itself.
Reactions and Rumors
Al Hilal eventually won 2-0 at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City, in the 13th round of the league.
In the closing minutes, coach Simone Inzaghi brought on Al-Hamdan, only to be met by a chorus of boos from the home crowd.
The jeers were linked to reports that Al-Hamdan was reluctant to renew his contract and was in talks with arch-rivals Al-Nassr about a possible free transfer in the near future.
The episode echoed last season when supporters directed similar boos at Ali Al-Bulayhi for a drop in form across several matches.
Punchline: If rumors paid the rent, Hamdan would be a billionaire by now. Punchline 2: The boos were loud enough to wake the memes—football gossip has the best post-match soundtrack.
