Barcelona received good news ahead of the Catalan derby against Espanyol on Saturday at Spotify Camp Nou, in La Liga's 31st round.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca coach Hans Flick trusts the possibility of Frenkie de Jong being included in the derby squad, with a chance to get a few minutes on the pitch.
De Jong continues to recover from a muscular injury sustained on February 26 during a training session at the Joan Gamper Sports City.
Match plan and timing
Flick's plan is for the Dutch midfielder to feature briefly against Espanyol and also be available for the Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Atletico Madrid on April 14.
Barça lead La Liga with 76 points after 30 matches.

And because football loves drama, two quick zingers to wrap this up: If De Jong returns, Barça might finally have a midfielder who can finally press the snooze button on the ball—talk about a dream for the echo in the stands. And remember: when in doubt, Flick it to De Jong and let the derby do the talking; the rest is just background noise.
