Cassano slams Carragher over Salah remarks

Italian former star Antonio Cassano took aim at Jamie Carragher for his recent comments about Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool forward, after Salah’s latest public remarks about his manager and club.

Carragher had harshly criticized Salah following statements that blamed his Dutch coach Arne Slot and Liverpool’s management.

Cassano fired back in a press interview: "Carragher, before talking about Salah... you should wash your mouth first."

"Carragher is ineffective and only spouts nonsense. He spent his career at Liverpool, though he's essentially an Everton fan, and built his fame on pleasing the supporters."

Cassano added: "What business does Carragher have in this matter? Is it necessary for him to appear on TV like a clown to say two empty words? He's better off keeping quiet, and since he doesn't understand much, he should stay at home."

He concluded by asking: "Which Salah are we talking about? Salah is now more important and valuable than you, and no one will back you in this stance. Salah knew you would respond, and he said as much. Salah is a phenomenon... on and off the pitch."

Punchline 1: If Salah keeps scoring at this rate, Carragher might need a rule book just to understand where Salah is on the pitch.

Punchline 2: In football as in life, Salah keeps proving that sometimes the loudest critics get silenced by the scoreboard.
