New Signing and Transfer Market Watch
Ceramica Cleopatra, a bustling club in the Egyptian Premier League, has officially signed Ivorian striker Freddie Mikael Kouablan from ZESCO United.
The 27-year-old agreed to a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Cairo side.
Kouablan has already scored a goal in four Confederation Cup matches this season.
He previously played for Simba SC in Tanzania, Green Eagles in Zambia, Desportivo Huíla in Angola and Ferroviário de Maputo in Mozambique.
Meanwhile, Al Ittihad told Cleopatra's management that Nigerian midfielder Favour Akim will leave after a disappointing spell.
Cleopatra also agreed to release Marwan Osman after interest from Al Ahly and Pyramids FC.
Club officials opened a transfer battle between the two sides, approving Ali Maher's plan to let Osman depart during the current winter window.
Punchline: If this window gets any hotter, even the footballs will be asking for sunscreen.
Punchline: In football, auctions may end with a goal—or with a sigh, depending on the bid.
