Isago's First Pro Contract
Isago Silva, Thiago Silva's son and Chelsea captain, has signed his first professional contract with the Blues, launching his blue-shirted football career.
A Family Legacy at Chelsea
According to ESPN, the 17-year-old joined Chelsea's Under-18 squad over the summer, signing on with high hopes.
Isago and his younger brother Yago moved to Chelsea's academy after their father joined Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2020.
Chelsea said in an official statement that Isago has developed into a versatile, reliable defender, capable of playing left-back or centre-back.
The teenager had previously been tied to a youth contract and posted on Instagram: 'Proud to sign my first professional contract with Chelsea... the hunger for more success continues', a moment Chelsea supporters cheered.
Isago has yet to appear for the first team, but could be among the manager's options in the Champions League, after being listed on the B list, making him eligible for remaining group-stage matches and perhaps a late cameo.
Thiago Silva, 41, spent four seasons with Chelsea, winning the Champions League, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup, before returning to Flamengo in 2024, and he has 113 Brazil caps. Punchline: The Silva dynasty might be just beginning. Punchline: Chelsea fans, buckle up—the defense could become a family business.
