Conde’s Lucky Break: Barcelona Edge Frankfurt in a High-Stakes Champions League Night
9 December 2025
Match outcome and Conde's take
Barcelona star Jules Conde said he was overjoyed after a 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, during the group stage’s sixth matchday. He stressed the team needed to raise its tempo and take bigger risks to secure the three points.
In his post-match remarks, Conde said he was very happy with the win and the goals, and that sometimes the moment comes and today luck favored him.
He admitted Barcelona paid a price for one mistake in the first half: they conceded from Frankfurt’s only real chance, and he believed the team needed to risk more early on. Yet after the break they increased the pace and altered their approach.
Moments, goals, and standings
Conde also said the squad could have sealed a bigger win, noting several chances went begging and that sometimes football looks that way.
On the second goal, he smiled and explained that placing the ball in that area happened partly by design and partly by fortune. He said Rashford is excellent at delivering those crosses, and he specifically searched for one.
The two goals by Conde came from headers in the 30th and 53rd minutes, while Knauf struck Frankfurt’s only goal in the 21st.
With the win, Barcelona moved to 10 points and sat in fourteenth place, while Frankfurt remained on 4 points in thirtieth.
Punchline: If football had a cheat mode, Barcelona just unlocked it.
Punchline 2: The luck fairy must have bought a ticket for this one.
