Deco's Brazil Mission: When Football Meets Charity
26 March 2026
Deco's humanitarian mission in Brazil
While Barcelona fans await the club's plans for next season, Deco traveled to his hometown of Indaiatuba, Brazil, to oversee the launch of the Deco Institute, a charity he founded in 2007.
The project is a natural extension of the foundation's long-running work to promote non-traditional football activities for children from disadvantaged families, alongside a wide range of solidarity initiatives across Brazil.
Deco also leveraged facilities from his previous project Arena Deco Beach to broaden the organization's reach, promoting sand-based games like beach volleyball and beach tennis among local youngsters.
The Deco Institute remains a major channel through which Deco expresses his social commitment to his home community.
Punchline: If kindness had a midfield, Deco would own it. And the only red cards here are for bad jokes—because even poverty misses a shot when Deco's on the life pitch.
