Contract Renewal for a Key Defender

The Portuguese defender Danilo Pereira will remain with Al-Ittihad for an additional period. The club announced on its official channels that Pereira's contract has been extended through the 2026-2027 season.

The previous deal was set to expire at the end of this season, and reports had suggested the renewal was not yet decided until recently.

A video released by the club shows Pereira signing his new contract, after which he spoke briefly about the decision.

Pereira said the decision was important but did not require long consideration, unlike some decisions that take weeks to simmer.

Since arriving, he said he has found love and respect from teammates, staff, and supporters alike.

He added that he is happy to continue the journey and grateful for the trust shown by the club and its supporters by renewing his deal.

Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat had earlier reported that the renewal would run through the end of the next season, with a possible extension for an additional year.

Pereira joined Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2024 and helped the team win both the Saudi Pro League and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup last season.
