Demiral Sticks with Al Ahli: Three-Year Renewal Sparks Pride in Jeddah
3 December 2025
New contract, new chapter
The Turkish defender Merih Demiral, a cornerstone for Al Ahli, issued an emotional message after renewing his contract with the club.
On Wednesday, Al Ahli announced that Demiral's deal had been extended beyond this season, keeping him at the club for three more years until 2029.
The defender shared signing photos on his official Instagram account, accompanying them with a heartfelt caption.
Demiral wrote that since day one this club has given him a sense of belonging; he has learned, adapted, and truly enjoyed his time here.
He added that it has been an honor to make the wonderful people of Jeddah proud every time he steps onto the pitch, and that means a lot to him.
The club also praised his performances, noting how he has grown since joining from Atalanta in 2023 to become a mainstay alongside Brazil's Roger Ibanez.
Demiral helped drive the team to last season's Elite AFC Champions League crown for the first time in its history, and to win the Saudi Super Cup at the start of this season.
Punchline 1: He didn't just renew a contract; he renewed his fan club's subscription.
Punchline 2: If the transfer market were a dating app, Demiral just swiped right on 2029.
