Match Report

The English striker returns to scoring today

The club saved Ivan Tony, Ahli's English forward, from a negative streak after he conceded a goal against opponents in Jeddah there.

Tony scored Ahli's first goal against Al Ittihad on Friday in Jeddah, during the 25th round of Roshen Saudi Pro League season.

The goal arrived in the 23rd minute as Brazilian winger Galeno cut in from the left and sent a cross that the English forward turned in.

Thus Tony returns to scoring in Roshen League after failing in the two previous rounds against Damac and Riyadh, avoiding a three-match drought in the competition for the first time this season.

The English forward achieved his best season in Roshen Saudi League since joining Al-Ahli in summer 2024, with this goal taking him to 24 for the campaign, leading the scoring charts by two goals overall.

Tony edged ahead of last season's tally of 23, securing second in the Roshen top-scorer list, two behind Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nassr, after matching his best term and lifting expectations.

Note to defenders: popcorn is for watching, Tony is scoring.

And that's why the derby stayed warm and Tony on fire.
