Egypt Cup Showdown: El Gouna Clinches Round of 16 with a 2-1 Win over Asyut Petroleum

El Gouna reached Egypt Cup Round of 16 with a 2-1 win over Asyut Petroleum on Thursday, in the Round of 32 at Khaled Basha Stadium, Red Sea.

Ahmed Abdul Rasool opened the scoring for El Gouna in the 56th minute, and Mohammed Al-Nahas added second in the 67th.

Petroleum of Asyut struck late in the 80th through Mahmoud Kamal, but could not complete the comeback there.

El Gouna progressed to the Round of 16, awaiting the winner of Pyramids versus Masr in the next stage.

Also, Pharco, Al Ahly Bank, Enppi, Petrojet, Tala'ea El Gaish, Ismailia, Haras El Hodood, and Smouha reached Round of 16.

Seven Round of 32 matches remain to be decided, including Al Ahly versus Egyptian Telecommunications, plus Pyramids against Masr, and Zamalek facing Municipal of al-Mahalla.
