Hamdi Heads to Germany for ACL Surgery
Mohamed Hamdi, a key Egypt midfielder, left Morocco at 6:00 PM Cairo time today, bound for Germany to undergo ACL surgery after tearing his knee ligament.
Team Medicine Arranges January 15 Procedure
Ibrahim Hassan, Egypt's manager, said the medical teams, led by Dr. Abu Alaa, coordinated with Pyramids FC to schedule the operation for January 15 in Germany.
Hamdi sustained a serious injury during Egypt's Round of 16 clash with Benin in AFCON 2025.
Egypt will meet Senegal in the semifinals, scheduled for Wednesday evening.
Punchline 1: If ACLs had frequent flyer miles, Hamdi's would be in premium cabin by now.
Punchline 2: In football's great comedy, a knee break becomes a German warranty — here’s hoping for a strong comeback.
