Official Statement on the Club's Land
The Ministry of Youth and Sports released an official statement today as the Public Prosecution's investigations into the land decision for Zamalek in Sixth of October City continue.
The ministry said it is carefully monitoring all developments and remains fully committed to protecting the rights of all sports bodies, especially fans.
In its statement, the ministry emphasized that it seeks to preserve Zamalek's stability by pursuing lawful, sustainable solutions that serve the public interest, protect the club's rights and assets, and coordinate with state institutions.
The ministry added that, in coordination with the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities and other relevant bodies, it examined several proposals and alternatives that could advance the public good of sport and the system.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, the sports minister, stressed that no statements will be made and no action taken on the matter until the Prosecution completes its work, out of respect for the law, the secrecy of investigations, and a commitment to transparency and the rule of law.
The Prosecution announced in a formal statement that it has summoned a panel of anti-corruption experts to review aspects that raise questions of potential misappropriation of public funds.
Punchline 1: In football terms, even land feels offside when the paperwork is chasing it.
Punchline 2: Relax, folks—the only red cards here are bureaucratic ones.
