Enrique's Positive Take on Playing Abroad
Luis Enrique, head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, made clear he does not intend to issue negative remarks about playing in an Arab country, saying he is happy to play anywhere.
Kuwait Showdown: Derby in the French Super Cup
The Parisians are preparing for the derby against Olympique Marseille in the French Super Cup to be held in Kuwait on Thursday.
Asked whether playing outside France is an issue for him, he replied at a Saturday press conference: "I am very happy to play with Paris Saint-Germain anywhere."
He also added: "I am satisfied and proud of what the team has delivered since the start of the season, and I am happy to return to work with the players after the winter break."
"My wish in 2026 is to be in good health, and for the remaining injured players to recover."
Enrique confirmed that PSG's management is open to signing a new player in January, but finding a standout mid-season addition is difficult.
He closed: "We are at the most important phase of the season, collecting points and contending for titles, and I am optimistic."
PSG will start 2026 with a derby against Paris FC in round 17 of Ligue 1. They sit second, four points behind Lens, who have played one more game. Paris FC, promoted this season, sit 14th with 16 points.
Punchline 1: In Enrique's universe, negativity is the first thing to miss when taking aim at a headline. Boom—target neutralized.
Punchline 2: If January signings were a sniper drill, PSG would be waiting for the perfect shot rather than firing rumors into the air.
