Enzo Fernandez's Chelsea Heart Amid Real Madrid Lures
Enzo Fernandez, Chelsea's rising star, has recently been linked with a move to Real Madrid to bolster Madrid's midfield amid the club's current crisis under manager Alvaro Arbeloa.
The 25-year-old has been enjoying a brilliant season with the Blues, already netting 11 goals.
Speaking to the Argentine network ESPN, he said: "Frank Lampard is a source of inspiration for me. I have watched many videos of him bursting into the box."
He added: "I don’t like being compared to him; he has achieved so much more here than I have. He’s my idol, and I hope to follow in his footsteps at Chelsea."
Asked about his future, Enzo was clear: "I am extremely grateful for the three years I have spent here; our performances have improved a lot, and being here today makes me very happy."
He also said: "I want to win trophies with this club because that's what it takes. I feel a deep connection to the club, and I hope we win many titles here."
He then spoke about Diego Maradona: "I am one of Diego's biggest fans. I have never met him, but I have always felt a strong bond between us."
He recalled the goal he scored against Napoli in the Champions League group stage, played at the Maradona Stadium, and added: "Scoring there was incredibly meaningful; I feel a deep connection to everything it represents."
Punchline 1: If Chelsea's midfield is a sniper’s nest, Enzo is the sharpest shot in the box — precise and always on target.
Punchline 2: Real Madrid might be circling, but Chelsea already has a season pass to the trophies; Enzo is just checking in for the long haul.
