Juliano is a product of Atletico's academy, joining the club in 2019, and his father's long association with the team helps explain the public display of loyalty.
Despite the rivalry, transfers between the two sides are not unheard of.
Marcos Llorente is a recent example, having grown up in Real Madrid's academy from age 13 before moving to Atletico Madrid in 2019 after realizing first-team chances were slim.
Several players have worn both shirts in the past, including Alvaro Morata, Sergio Reguilón, Thibaut Courtois, Bernd Schuster, and Jose Antonio Reyes.
