Flick’s Fire at Barça: Could Barcelona Rewrite Chavi’s La Liga Milestones?

Barça's Unstoppable Rise Under Flick
Under German manager Hans Flick, Barcelona is making remarkable strides in La Liga, moving at a pace unmatched by any rival this season, as they brace for a test that could break a historic record.
Since the October Clasico defeat (1-2), Barca has won every match, topping La Liga with 46 points, four clear of Real Madrid.
They are set to host Espanyol at Cornella-El Prat in Round 18 of La Liga on Saturday.
According to AS, Flick's stats are exceptional: he has eight more points than the same stage last season (46 vs 38), and could end the season in third place as Barca's best half-season in the last decade (49 points).
The Spanish daily even suggests Flick could surpass Xavi Hernandez (50 points in 2022/23) and Ernesto Valverde (51 points in 2017/18) in those milestones.
AS also hinted at Flick breaking his longest winning run in La Liga, currently nine straight, which helped last season's Barca topple to the top and ultimately win the title.
It all started with a 7-1 thrashing of Valencia in late January, followed by wins over Deportivo Alavés (1-0), Sevilla (1-4), Rayo Vallecano (1-0), Las Palmas (0-2), Real Sociedad (4-0), Atletico Madrid (2-4), Osasuna (3-0), and Girona (4-1), before a 1-1 draw with Real Betis in early April.
This season's streak began against Elche (3-1) and continued against Celta (2-4), Athletic Bilbao (4-0), Alavés (3-1), Atletico Madrid (3-1), Betis (3-5), Osasuna (2-0) and Villarreal (0-2).
The stakes are high, and Barca fans know it. The run, the records, and the dream of repeating last season's glory are all on the table.
Punchline 1: Flick's run is so hot, even the scoreboard is sweating bullets.
Punchline 2: If Barça keep this up, my calendar will start predicting trophies instead of weekends.
