Flight Disruptions Push Three U21 Jawwy League Matches to New Dates
Al-Hilal leads the U21 Jawwy League as schedule changes unfold.

Postponement of three U21 matches

The Saudi Football Federation announced the postponement of three matches from the 18th round of the Jawwy Elite Under-21 League.

This season marks the competition's first full 24-team edition, featuring 18 clubs from the Saudi Pro League for 2024-2025 and six teams from the First Division.

Kooora reported the postponement was driven by flight disruptions tied to regional tensions that have disrupted air travel across the region in recent days.

The three fixtures postponed were Riyadh vs Al-Wehda, Ettifaq vs Al-Raed, and Al-Orobah vs Al-Fateh, all originally scheduled for today.

The Saudi Football Federation's official site said the Riyadh vs Al-Wehda match will be played at Riyadh's stadium, while Al-Orobah vs Al-Fateh will take place at Al-Jouf University Stadium, on April 1.

Ettifaq's match against Al-Raed in Dammam's Ego Stadium was scheduled for today, Sunday, but no new date had been announced yet.

Standings and implications

At the top of the standings, Al-Hilal leads the Jawwy Elite Under-21 League with 38 points, followed by Al-Nassr on 34, and Ettifaq in third with 34 from 16 matches, making them strong title contenders.

Al-Raed sits 22nd with 14 points from 17 games, facing relegation, while Riyadh is 13th and Al-Wehda 12th, both on 25 points.

Al-Orobah sits 14th with 22 points, and Al-Fateh is fifth with 31.

Officials emphasized that the delays are to ensure safe travel and proper rescheduling, and fans are urged to follow official channels for updates. In the meantime, maybe invest in a calendar.

Punchline time: if schedules were snipers, they'd aim and miss just to stay dramatic. And remember, timing is everything; apparently the calendar is the true star of this season.
