From Cairo to Camp Nou: Hamza Abdel Karim Arrives to Forge a Barcelona Loan Path
31 January 2026
Arrival in Barcelona and medical ahead
The Egyptian striker Hamza Abdel Karim, currently with Al Ahly, has arrived in Barcelona to push through his move to the Catalan club.
Spanish outlet Sport published a video on X showing Hamza landing at Barcelona airport.
The caption read that he has indeed arrived in Barcelona, landing in the city just minutes earlier.
He was greeted by his agent, Christian Emil, and is scheduled to undergo a medical examination within 30 minutes.
His signing forms part of Barcelona's plan to bolster the reserve squad, alongside a group of young talents: Uruguayan left-back Patricio Pasificco (19), Dutch defender Jovensli Onustein (18), and English winger Ajay Tavar es (16).
Al Ahly had renewed Hamza Abdel Karim's contract before agreeing to loan him to Barcelona with a buy option at season's end.
Spanish reports indicate the player will join the reserve team until June, with the purchase option rising from €1.25 million to €1.5 million.
The deal also includes incentives linked to his participation with Barcelona up to €5 million, versus the initial €3 million, along with increasing the future resale percentage from 10% to 15%.
Punchline 1: If this transfer were a sniper shot, Barca would call it a clean hit—net, no ricochets.
Punchline 2: And if his medical checks out, expect a trophy cabinet to start growing… one tiny clause at a time.
