From Domestic Rejection to European Dreams: A Raja Defender Sets Sights Abroad
25 December 2025
European Move, Domestic Offer Denied
The defender Bouchaib El Arassi of Raja Casablanca has declined a loan offer from Hassania Agadir, preferring to pursue a professional spell outside Morocco, according to local press.
His agent has reached a preliminary agreement with an Armenian league club, pending clearance from Raja's management to seal the deal during the winter transfer window.
Arassi had drawn attention during his involvement with the Moroccan national team at the CHAN tournament for local-based players, held in August, where the Atlas Lions won the title over Madagascar 3-2.
His role at Raja has recently diminished amid coaching changes, with the staff relying on more experienced players. The 25-year-old is therefore seriously considering leaving the Casablanca club to play regularly and continue his development.
What’s next for the defender?
The move could hinge on the green light from Raja and the Armenian club, with the winter window offering a chance to kickstart his European adventure.
Meanwhile, fans will be watching whether he can translate his CHAN form into regular senior-team football abroad.
Punchline: If delays were goals, he’d be the league's top scorer in the transfer window.
Punchline 2: Looks like his career is upgrading from local hero to global stealth mode—he’ll be hard to track, but the scouts will still miss him on the bench.
