Inter Milan conquer Slavia Prague 3-0 in the Champions League
Inter Milan, under coach Kristian KiVo, delivered a serious and balanced display to beat Slavia Prague 3-0 in the Champions League at Giuseppe Meazza.
The Nerazzurri continued their smooth European start, collecting six points from two games and solidifying a competitive position in the group.
Inter lined up in a 3-5-2 formation with Jan Sommer in goal, a back three, and wing-backs supporting a frontline of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram, flanked by Denzel Dumfries on the right and Davide Dimarco on the left.
The goals flowed in quickly: Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring in the 30th minute, Dumfries doubled the advantage in the 34th, and Martinez completed a brace in the 65th.
Thuram left the field with a thigh cramp, and doctors will run tests in the coming hours to gauge the severity. KiVo explained that seven changes were made from the previous league match due to only 72 hours between games, aiming to keep the squad fresh while maintaining quality.
In Europe, Inter have now won both group-stage games, scoring five goals without conceding, while their Serie A form has been more mixed—two losses to Udinese and Juventus, but nine points gathered from fixtures against Torino, Sassuolo and Cagliari.
Looking ahead, Inter host Cremonese on Saturday, 4 October, then travel to Roma on 18 October. In the Champions League, they will face Union Saint-Gilloise on 21 October.
Punchlines: If football were a comedy, Inter would be delivering the punchline with a perfect finish. And if soccer were a warranty, Inter's defense would come with a lifetime guarantee—still, please don’t test it in the joke section.
