Gaethje vows a decisive win over Pimblett at UFC 324

Overview
American mixed martial artist Justin Gaethje has little patience for Paddy Pimblett's comments about Dustin Poirier's retirement.
Gaethje (26-5 in MMA, 9-5 in UFC) will face Pimblett (23-3, 7-0 in UFC) for the interim lightweight title in the main event of UFC 324, Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Pimblett had talked about ending Gaethje's career if he wins, citing Poirier's last performance against Max Holloway at UFC 318 as a reference point.
In an interview with TNT Sports, Pimblett said: "I look at Poirier as an example. He said this would be his retirement, then he looked awful. He took big blows for five rounds, and despite all the hype, he didn't perform up to expectations."
In response, Gaethje warned Pimblett not to get too confident, telling reporters: "He's here insulting legends like Poirier. Saturday I will win him clearly; just watch."
Pimblett's remarks came after Poirier endorsed Gaethje to win, which Pimblett took as motivation.
'Dustin never says a nice word about me,' Pimblett said. 'I was honest; he didn't look good against Holloway. Enough exaggeration.'
Gaethje replied: 'You won't look any better either if you face Holloway.'
Punchlines: "If trash talk paid the bills, Pimblett would be retired already — Gaethje just cashed the check."
"Sniper mode on: Gaethje's aim is near perfect; Pimblett, consider this a reality check."
