Saudi U23 Triumph in the Gulf Cup
The Saudi national under-23 team continued its dominance in the Gulf Cup for players under 23, winning its eighth edition in Qatar this December.
The Green Falcons clinched Gulf U23 title today, taking the final 2-0 against Iraq at Aspire Zone in Qatar.
Abdulrahman Al-Abed opened scoring in 23rd minute, followed by Abdulaziz Al-Aliya's strike in 49th; Haider Abdul Karim was sent off just before halftime after a video review.
The win makes Saudi champions for the third consecutive time and fifth, after titles in 2008, 2012, 2015 and 2016.
The Green Falcons remain the Gulf U23 era’s most decorated side, with the UAE, Oman, and Bahrain each having won it once.
The victory confirms Saudi Arabia as the team to beat in this age group, as fans celebrate and analysts note the depth of a squad that keeps breaking records. Bam! Boom! Indeed.
