Hamdallah's status under spotlight today

The Shabab head coach, a tactician, spoke about his Moroccan striker Hamdallah, who has been out of action for weeks.

Despite Hamdallah's involvement with Morocco's 'second team' and leadership of the Atlas Lions toward the Arab Cup title, injuries have again sidelined him.

In a press conference after Shabab's draw with Al-Najma, the bottom side of the Saudi Pro League, the coach said Hamdallah remains injured but is progressing well in rehab.

He added, 'We miss Hamdallah; he makes a difference and knows how to score, but his readiness isn't complete yet. Still, he's advanced a lot in rehabilitation, and we'll see when he trains again.'

The coach also said management was asked to sign a striker because Hamdallah and Abdulaziz Al-Othman were unavailable, and he wasn’t ready or lasted long after injury, so a recruit was sought—because the bench appreciates punchlines.
