Hassan Tambakti Eyes Fresh Al Hilal Contract as Renewal Plans Take Shape
22 October 2025
Hassan Tambakti, the 26-year-old Al Hilal defender, has entered the club’s renewal plans as the team seeks to secure his services beyond 2027.
Saudi media report that management has begun early negotiations to extend Tambakti’s contract by a further term, aiming to preserve squad stability amid competition for his signature.
With the current deal running until the end of the 2026-2027 season, Al Hilal is weighing a long-term commitment and a strong offer described as befitting the player’s status.
Tambakti joined Al Hilal in the summer of 2023 from Al Shabab, and while he initially waited for a starting role behind Kalidou Koulibaly and Ali Al-Bulaihi, he gradually grew into a key defender under coach Simone Inzaghi.
Last season saw a dip in form from Koulibaly and Al-Bulaihi, which paved the way for Tambakti to feature more regularly in the heart of the defense, occasionally alongside Koulibali as a regular starter.
Since Inzaghi’s arrival, Tambakti has established himself as a fixture in the back line, complementing Koulibali and, at times, pairing with Neves in midfield setups that emphasize balance and solidity.
Tambakti’s best form came in the 2025 Club World Cup, notably in the Round of 16 victory over Manchester City that propelled Al Hilal to an important 4-3 win and underscored his rising value.
To date, the 26-year-old has featured 74 times for Al Hilal since joining in 2023, scoring no goals but contributing two assists, helping the club win the Saudi league, the King’s Cup, two Saudi Super Cups, and reach the Club World Cup quarterfinals.
Alongside him, Al Hilal is pushing for renewals with Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, with Milinkovic-Savic reportedly close to signing a two-year extension and Neves also in advanced talks.
Koulibaly remains a core part of the defence, with the Senegalese international valued for his leadership and reliability at the back, reinforcing the team’s spine alongside Tambakti.
Ultimately, these renewals form part of a broader strategy to sustain domestic success and pursuit of the AFC Champions League crown, while keeping a cohesive, competitive squad intact for the long haul.

Hassan Tambakti’s future at Al Hilal looks increasingly secure, though European interest may linger as Neves and Milinkovic-Savic weigh options. For now, the defender appears set to sign on for a longer stay, anchoring a squad focused on trophies and consistency.
Punchline time: If Tambakti signs the deal, Al Hilal’s trophy cabinet might need a larger shelf—talk about expanding capacity for success. And if patience is a virtue, Hilal fans could earn sainthood while waiting for contract clauses—this saga is longer than a pre-season tour, and twice as dramatic as a penalty shootout in extra time.
