English striker Ivan Tony was the star of Al-Ahli's convincing win, scoring a 59th-minute opener and immediately adding two more late strikes to seal the result.
The rout was completed at Al-Inma Stadium on Tuesday as Tony fired a first-half hat-trick in the 59th, 67th and 77th minutes, with Rayyan Hamid adding the fourth in the 86th.
Some rival fans argued that Tony should have been sent off after a robust challenge on Greek midfielder Dimitris Kourbelis early in the second half.
