Injury Blow: Alexander-Arnold Sidelined as Real Madrid Faces a Calendar-Heavy Run
4 December 2025
Injury Update
Real Madrid announced on Thursday the official diagnosis of right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold's injury, following medical tests conducted at the club's headquarters today, ahead of practice.
And Arnold suffered the injury during the team's match against Athletic Bilbao, which ended in a 3-0 victory for side, yesterday Wednesday, at San Mamés, in La Liga.
Tests showed a muscular tear in the rectus femoris of the left quadriceps, sidelining him weeks ahead according to medical staff.
Fixture Impact
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the injury will sideline the English star for ten matches, notably vs Manchester City, Monaco, and Benfica in Champions League, with a possible absence from Super Cup if the side reaches the final.
Additionally, Marca noted that Arnold will be unavailable for Sevilla, Real Betis, and Deportivo Alavés matches in La Liga, a blow for coach Xabi Alonso, particularly since the player had previously missed time this season with a similar thigh injury in September this season too.
Meanwhile, Eduardo Camavinga's ankle injury is not serious, and he will be monitored day by day to determine if he can feature against Celta Vigo this Sunday at practice.
Punchline 1: If injuries were headlines, Trent would be the season's best-seller.
Punchline 2: Don’t panic, Madrid fans—calendar drama is real, but the physio's calendar is even fuller.
