Samir Chergui joins Algeria's injuries

A series of blows struck Vladimir Petkovic, Algeria's coach, during Burkina Faso match on Sunday, in this AFCON round.

About a quarter into the second half, defender Samir Chergui collapsed, clutching his hamstring.

Chergui sustained injury after a clash near a corner flag with winger Dango Watara.

Chergui tried to soldier on, but fell again, forcing medical staff to come for treatment right away.

He looked unable to continue, prompting Petkovic to substitute him with Rafik Belghali at the 60th minute.

This was second Algerian injury in the match, after Jwan Hagem, who left early in the 13th minute.

Hagem suffered an injury to the foot after being trod on by Gustavo Sengari, who received a card and avoided red after VAR review.

Algeria went ahead with a penalty in the 23rd minute, scored by Riyad Mahrez alone.
