Inter's Injury Woes Ahead of Derby Day
Inter Milan head coach Kristian Kivo received bad news during training ahead of Sunday's clash with Atalanta in the 17th round of Serie A.
The Nerazzurri are looking for a win to stay on top of the standings, currently on 33 points, one point ahead of Milan (32).
According to the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, French forward Yuan Bonny, Inter's striker, suffered an injury to his left knee during training, and his condition will be assessed more precisely in the coming days.
Initial scans at the Humanitas hospital in Rozzano showed a minor knee injury, but he will undergo further tests next week.
As a result, Bonny will miss Sunday's match against Atalanta and is unlikely to feature under Kivo's orders until next year 2026.
Bonny had featured in Inter's last game against Bologna, missing a penalty in the defeat that ended Inter's bid for the Italian Super Cup.
Inter had exited the Super Cup after losing on penalties to Bologna, 3-2, after regulation time ended 1-1.
Looks like the knee stole the spotlight; even the trophy wants a vacation.
Football drama aside, Inter still have a chance to bounce back—after all, comebacks are their second home.
