Inzaghi Bets on Youth as Al Hilal Hits UAE For a Vital Camp
6 December 2025
Training camp and youth integration
Italian coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to bring several young players into Al Hilal's squad for a trip to Al Ain, UAE, where the team will hold a training camp.
The pause in domestic competitions, coupled with the Saudi national team's Arab Cup duties in Qatar, is being used to stage a mini-preparation before resuming the season.
According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah, Inzaghi will take a group of young players to gauge their readiness during the camp.
This move comes as the team is missing a sizable number of players who are with the Saudi squad at the Arab Cup.
Upcoming matches and Asian campaign
The team is scheduled to play a friendly on December 13 against Bahraini side Al Muharraq. Al Hilal will return to Riyadh to continue preparations for domestic and continental matches, starting with a tough clash against Al Taawoun on December 19 at their stadium, in the 10th round of the Roshen Pro League.
Al Hilal sit second, four points behind leaders Al Nassr who head the table with maximum points after nine rounds. In Asia, the club have collected 15 points from five games in the AFC Champions League Elite West group, topping Group West.
Punchline 1: Inzaghi's plan is so sharp, even the bench asked for training wheels.
Punchline 2: If the youngsters shine, the starters may need sunglasses—the future is bright and the shadows are getting shorter for the squad.
