Transfer talk around Benzema
As Al Hilal closes in on a potential signing of Karim Benzema from Al Ittihad, head coach Simone Inzaghi said he has no details about the deal.
Benzema missed rounds 19 and 20 of the Saudi Pro League against Al Fateh and Al Najma due to contract negotiations that fueled talk of a move.
Inzaghi spoke after the 0-0 draw with Al Ahli in round 20, stating that he had not received any official information about transfers, according to Asharq Al-Awsat.
On Murad Housaawi's absence, the coach said Murad is a good player who trains well, and he is happy to have him in the squad.
Regarding Savic, Inzaghi noted that the player faced a risk of chest fracture or a bruise after continuing the match following a clash with Kishe.
He also confirmed that Muteb Al-Harbi could not complete the match after halftime, while Al-Yami left the field with an ankle injury.
Asked about the most disappointing aspect of the game, Inzaghi replied that although the team played well overall, they could not finish attacks as hoped, which fell short of their ambitions.
Humor time: If transfers were dating apps, Benzema would be the guy who keeps swiping left on the contract. And if football negotiations were a cooking show, this saga would be a dish labeled mysterious and always missing a key ingredient.
