Former Al Ahly star Mohamed Fadl launched a scathing assessment of the club's new forward, Yelsin Kamovich, saying he is not suited to lead the Red Devils' attack.

Kamovich joined Al Ahly on loan from Tromsø during the January window, brought in to solve the team's goal-scoring crisis this season with an option to buy.

The 26-year-old Angolan striker is on loan until the end of the season, with the club hoping for a goal boost and a long-term option.

In five appearances three in the Egyptian Premier League and two in the CAF Champions League he has yet to score, prompting doubts about his fit.

Danish coach Jes Thorup handed him a starting role against El Gouna, but he failed to impress.

Fadl, speaking on On Sports, described Kamovich as lacking confidence, saying his facial expressions tell the story of a young player without experience.

He pointed out the gap between Kamovich and Imam Ashour: Imam leapt and headed the decisive goal, while Kamovich failed to convert another cross.

Fadl concluded that even if Kamovich were to score three goals tonight, he would still question whether he is right for Al Ahly.
